Serving Charlotte, Huntersville, Concord, Matthews, Mint Hill, and Pineville
A lot of people come to us because they want to feel “beautiful and confident” again, and broken capillaries across the nose can really get in the way of that. Yes, vascular lesion removal with our DYE VL treatment is a strong option for superficial broken capillaries and small facial spider veins. It’s done in short visits, usually in a series, and you’ll want to plan for temporary redness or bruising plus serious sun protection, especially in Charlotte.
Broken capillaries on the nose: what they are (and why they don’t fade on their own)
Those tiny red or purple lines on the sides of your nose are usually superficial blood vessels that have become visible at the surface. People often call them broken capillaries, facial spider veins, or telangiectasia. They can show up gradually, and once they’re there, skincare tends to do very little because no cream can “close” a visible vessel sitting in the skin.
And we get the timing issue. You might be juggling work, kids, or commuting across Charlotte, and the idea of a long recovery just isn’t realistic. That’s why we like this option for the nose. Appointments are short, and downtime is typically minimal, so you can keep your life moving while we work on the redness that keeps catching your eye in the mirror.
Quick reality check: broken capillaries are different from deep varicose veins. DYE VL is meant for superficial facial vessels, not large or deep leg veins.
Why DYE VL (pulsed dye style) works on facial spider veins and redness
DYE VL is a light-based treatment we use to target visible vascular and pigmented lesions. For broken capillaries on the nose, the goal is simple: deliver precise energy that focuses on the color in the vessel so the body can break it down over time. That’s why this approach tends to make sense when makeup keeps “slipping” off the redness and skincare isn’t touching it.
A lot of people notice some improvement after the first session, but full clearance usually takes more than one visit. In general, most people need 2 to 4 sessions spaced several weeks apart. That spacing matters because your skin needs time to calm down and cycle through the clearing process.
The appointment itself is typically quick. Our DYE VL service is scheduled for 30 minutes. We’ll talk through what you’re seeing in the mirror, then we’ll treat the specific vessels and areas of redness we’re targeting. We keep it gentle, but it’s normal to feel brief heat or a snapping sensation during pulses.
“Everything was explained so thoroughly, and I was confident in my choice for treatment.”

2–4 sessions, minimal downtime: what recovery looks like in Charlotte heat
Most people bounce back quickly, but “minimal downtime” doesn’t mean “no rules.” After DYE VL, it’s common to have temporary redness, mild swelling, or pinpoint bruising. That usually settles down, but it can be more noticeable on the nose because the skin is thin and the area is front and center.
We’ll also be very direct about sun. Charlotte’s summer sun and humidity are no joke, and sun exposure can make your skin more reactive and raise the risk of unwanted pigment changes. Plan on strict SPF, avoiding tanning beds, and being smart about outdoor time.
For 2–4 weeks after treatment
- Skip aggressive facials, harsh scrubs, and strong at-home actives on the treated area.
- Avoid intentional sun exposure and be consistent with SPF.
- Let us know if you have a big event coming up so we can plan around possible bruising.
If you’re near the Prosperity Church Road corridor or the Mallard Creek and Reedy Creek area, a quick appointment can fit nicely into a weekend plan or between campus and errands for UNC Charlotte students. The key is giving your skin a little breathing room afterward.
Is vascular lesion removal right for your nose capillaries, or should we talk IPL, Nd:YAG, or something else?
DYE VL tends to be a great fit when the vessels are small, superficial, and clearly visible on the nose or cheeks. We also use it for other concerns like cherry angiomas, birthmarks, and age spots, since it targets vascular and pigmented lesions.
If vessels are deeper or larger, we may steer you toward another option like IPL or an Nd:YAG laser. And for larger leg veins, sclerotherapy is usually the conversation. Skin tone and recent sun exposure matter too. If you’re darker-skinned or recently tanned, we’ll talk through safer settings or a different plan instead of forcing a one-size-fits-all approach.
The IZO approach: clean, modern, and we write your plan down
People tell us they choose IZO Aesthetics & Wellness because the office is clean and modern, and because we don’t rush. We explain what we’re doing, answer questions, and make sure you’re comfortable before we start. That matters with anything involving visible redness because you don’t want surprises after you leave.
And we’re big on follow-through. Our team is known for being “super insightful” and for writing down step-by-step skincare instructions and a plan, so you’re not trying to remember everything once you get back to real life.
“Obie was very knowledgeable about skin which is a major plus. I left feeling refreshed and well taken care of. She wrote down step by step instructions on recommended skincare routine.”
