ClearLift Skin Rejuvenation Treatment: Aftercare for the First 7 Days
By IZO Aesthetics & Wellness | August 11, 2026
We do ClearLift with the Harmony XL Pro system, and the biggest rule for your first week is simple: protect your skin from heat and sun. In Charlotte, that means no “quick tan, ” no sweaty workouts for a couple days, and daily SPF even if you’re only in the car. Keep things cool, clean, and gentle so your skin stays calm while collagen stimulation does its job.
Quick reality check: ClearLift is known as the “lunchtime facelift” because it’s non-ablative and doesn’t rough up the surface. But your dermis is still working behind the scenes, so your aftercare is what keeps irritation and pigment issues from stealing your result.
First 24 hours after ClearLift: keep it cool, clean, and boring
Most people do really well after ClearLift, and that’s the point. Still, the first day matters. We generally recommend you treat your skin like it’s easily annoyed, because for a short window, it usually is.
- Cleanse gently: Use a gentle, fragrance-free cleanser. Lukewarm water only. Pat dry, don’t rub.
- Moisturize simply: Stick with a fragrance-free moisturizer. No “tingly” products right now.
- Skip makeup at first: If you can, give your skin the day off. Less product means less chance of irritation.
- No heat: Avoid hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, and anything that leaves you flushed.
- No sweating workouts: Hold off on strenuous exercise for 48 to 72 hours. Sweat plus heat can kick up inflammation.
Charlotte tip: Our humidity makes “light sweating” turn into real sweating fast. If you have to be outside, plan shade, keep your face cool, and reapply SPF.
48–72 hours: sweat, pools, and “active” skincare are the usual troublemakers
If you’re the type who wants to jump right back into the gym, this is the window to slow down. Heat and heavy sweating can prolong redness and make skin feel tight or reactive. And water activities are a no for a bit too.
Hold off on workouts and heat
We generally recommend no strenuous exercise, hot yoga, saunas, or hot showers for 48 to 72 hours. If you do a light walk, keep it truly light and stay out of the sun.
Skip pools and hot tubs
Avoid pools and hot tubs for 48 to 72 hours. Chlorine, bacteria, and heat are not your friends while your skin is settling.
Put “actives” on pause
Stop retinoids, vitamin C serums, AHAs/BHAs, and at-home peels for 3 to 7 days, or until we tell you it’s time to restart. If you’re unsure what counts as an active, ask us. We’ll keep it simple.
We’re on the Prosperity Church Road corridor in northeast Charlotte, so it’s easy to pop in for a quick check-in before or after you’re out shopping nearby if something feels off.
Days 3–7: the “don’t overdo it” week (sun rules included)
By day 3, most people feel normal. That’s when overdoing it happens. Your skin can look fine while it’s still more reactive underneath, so we keep your routine steady for the rest of the week.
Sun protection is non-negotiable in Charlotte
Wear broad-spectrum SPF 30+ every morning. Reapply if you’re outside, driving a lot, or sitting near windows. Add a hat and sunglasses when you can. We recommend avoiding intentional sun exposure for at least 1 to 2 weeks, especially with our strong summer sun in Charlotte.
Keep exfoliation and picking off your radar
Skip scrubs, cleansing brushes, and exfoliating pads for the full week. And don’t pick at dry patches. If you feel a little roughness, that’s usually your sign to moisturize more, not scrub more.
A pattern we see: People get the best glow when they keep it simple and consistent. The clients who love their results tend to be the ones who follow the routine we write out step by step and resist the urge to “fix” anything at home.
A simple ClearLift routine: cleanser, moisturizer, SPF (and that’s it)
You don’t need a complicated shelf to protect your ClearLift result. For the first week, we like a calm routine that supports your barrier and avoids extra inflammation.
- Gentle cleanser: Fragrance-free, non-foaming if you run dry or sensitive.
- Moisturizer: Fragrance-free, barrier-supporting, applied morning and night.
- Broad-spectrum SPF 30+: Every day. Reapply when you’re outside.
If you’ve had sensitive-skin struggles before, tell us. Our team gives straightforward recommendations that match what your skin can actually handle, and we’ll write it down so you’re not guessing at home.
When to call us after ClearLift (and when it’s just normal)
A little redness, mild warmth, or a “tight” feeling can happen, especially in the first day. That usually settles quickly with gentle skincare and avoiding heat. What we don’t want is you sitting at home hoping something serious calms down on its own.
Reach out right away if you notice:
- Blistering
- Spreading redness or increasing pain
- Pus or signs of infection
- Unexpected darkening or patchy discoloration
“Obie was very knowledgeable about skin which is a major plus. I left feeling refreshed and well taken care of. She wrote down step by step instructions on recommended skincare routine. Which is a plus!”
